Springing into action …

It’s been quite a winter! Nether Wallop Trading has moved – from Dorset to Derbyshire – over the winter, and we’ve been watching the new garden slowly wake up.  Mossy snowy wallAfter months of snow, twigs, sticks and few signs of life, we’ve seen carpets of snowdrops, clumps of daffodils, hellebores, and now a few bluebells peeking through. We are trying to take it slowly – to see what emerges, what we like, what we want to change – and not rush it, but it’s very difficult to hold back. We have so many ideas – things to plant, things to take out, veg beds to create, compost bins to build, a greenhouse which needs moving – but we know that we should take a breath, hang on, see where the sunny spots and shady spots are, watch where the cats sleep, see what comes up happily on its own …

Spring helleboresMeanwhile, in Nether Wallop news … we were very excited to see Monty Don using the Paper Potter on Gardener’s World on 20 April 2018. It’s still on iPlayer if you missed it! He gave a full demonstration of how to use it, and linked it to his efforts to reduce the amount of plastic he uses in his garden.

We are also very excited that our Tool Scraper has been selected by Kitchen Garden magazine as their Top Pick for cleaning up the garden. It’s a nifty little thing to help you keep your tools in tiptop condition.

And lastly, we will be selling our products at the RHS Chatsworth Show in June, so we’re looking forward to being at a show which should be inspiring and packed with ideas, IMG_0907and to meeting our lovely customers face to face.

Next time on the blog … compost bins and, if we get our act together, hens …
