Hare today; crops gone tomorrow

Hare today but crops gone tomorrow … we’ve been laying down criss-crossed sticks in an attempt to deter to local hares from chewing their way through tender roots and leaves. Harey stuff

Last year we lost the courgettes and pumpkins at the start of the season, but came across the ‘crossed stick’ method and it seemed to do the trick … so fingers crossed!

Fortunately, the hares don’t seem keen on onions, and the fruit is coming on well though …
